Stevens Point Sixers

2024-Player Registration

Welcome

Welcome

On behalf of the Stevens Point American Legion Baseball Board of Directors, I am pleased to open registration for the upcoming season.  The Stevens Point American Legion baseball program is looking forward to the upcoming season to be very competitive and successful.

Players that graduated high school in 2023 shall play for the last American Legion team they played.  Players shall not be eligible for transfer and their name must appear on a previously approved Legion roster.  If a player was born in 2005 or 2006, that player must play in the Senior Legion Baseball program.  Players must be 13 years of age as of January 1, 2024 to be eligible for the Junior Legion Baseball program.  Players born in 2004 or before are no longer eligible to play American Legion Baseball.

Like prior seasons, we will again be charging a fee to play.  The fee will be per player and there is no discount for multiple players from the same family.  The fee helps with the bus, umpire, and uniform costs.  Reminder that returning players will be using their batting helmet and jerseys from the previous year and should fill in the batting helmet size with N/A and jerseys with N/A unless new jerseys/helmet are needed because of growth or excessive wear (example catchers equipment causing damage).

This season we will be limiting the size of both the Junior and Senior team rosters. This means that there is the potential that not all players that tryout will make either of the teams.  The coaching staff will be scheduling tryouts May 5 & 12, 2024 from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.  A tryout fee of $50 is required at registration. Any player whose high school baseball team is still participating in the WIAA playoffs may tryout but may not play until his high school team’s season concludes.

The lone fundraiser for the 2024 season is a cash raffle. Each $10 ticket also has a $10 coupon with a $30 purchase at participating Sixer sponsors. Drawing to be held before the last game of the night on Saturday of the Firecracker Classic. If you sell 100 cash raffle tickets your player fee is covered. Tickets sold beyond 100, earn additional player incentives to be presented at the March 24th meeting.

*Each player/family is required to sell the 100 raffle tickets and work credit hours (TBD based on game schedules) in either the concession stand, scorekeeping/announcing or other supporting role needs for regular season games or tournaments. These shift opportunities are available during Senior and Junior home games as well as SPASH and Pacelli home baseball games.  There will be more information at the preseason player/parent meeting on Sunday, March 24th at 12pm at Skipp's Bowling Center.  If a player does not make a team, the $50 TRYOUT fee will be refunded in full.

Early registration is encouraged to help with the determination of the number of possible teams, coaches needed and the ordering of proper equipment and uniform sizing.   Deadline date to register is May 1st , 2024.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
